We had a day in Kyoto on Friday – we found an ice cream place and went upstairs for a seat only to find a baby grand piano and stacks of classical piano records.
At the end of the day we found dinner in the Kibuki Theatre in the Gion district. We had the kaiseki set dinner, like Ben did in Nottingham. It was beautiful!
Most sensible meal we had was this – honey toast – just take a small loaf of white bread, toast the whole thing on the outside, hollow it out, and fill with ice cream. Serve with runny honey and/or warm chocolate sauce.
If that means you have to go on a diet, go back to this stuff – a sort of jelly with absolutely no calories at all, served from hot water at most convenience stores.
